SMS Opt-In

Two texting programs

Teri Health LLC operates two SMS programs. Practice messages go to patients of medical offices that use Teri. Demonstration messages go only to practice owners and administrators who request a live product demo. This page describes how each program collects consent.

Practice messages — how patients opt in

Patients of offices using Teri Health opt in through one or more of the following methods. Each method records who consented, when, and how:

  • Intake form: at check-in the patient provides a mobile number and checks a box agreeing to receive appointment-related texts from that practice.
  • Verbal consent: front-desk staff confirm the patient wants appointment text reminders and record that consent in the patient chart.
  • Keyword: the patient texts START to the practice number and receives a confirmation auto-reply.

Message frequency varies with the patient's care schedule. Message and data rates may apply. Consent is never a condition of receiving care. See our SMS Terms and Privacy Policy.

What practice enrollees receive

Appointment confirmations and reminders, reschedule prompts, follow-up scheduling messages, and replies when the patient texts the practice. Example: "Hi Alex, this is your practice. Reply C to confirm or R to reschedule your appointment on Thu Sep 10 at 2:40 PM. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help."

Demo messages — how visitors opt in

A visitor enters their own mobile number on the Teri Health live demo page and checks a required consent box that names the demonstration contact, one follow-up text, email follow-up, message and data rates, and the STOP opt-out method. Consent is timestamped and stored for that number.

What a demo enrollee receives

The visitor may receive the one-time call or text they requested and one follow-up text about the demonstration. Replies go to the synthetic demo practice. No patient messaging occurs on the demonstration number.
